Africa Hope Fund's Mission

The mission of the Africa Hope Fund is to promote wildlife conservation in Southern Africa by supporting organizations on the ground that are dedicated to anti-poaching efforts, conservation education for children, wildlife damage mitigation, and continued education for local children to ensure their economic futures.

Just a few of Africa Hope Fund’s successful projects in Zambia, include:

We provide direct services through our Reading Centers by building libraries and by training and funding 21 reading assistants who work with the near by schools in teaching reading and writing English which is required in the school from grade 4 in Zambia. We now partner with  Project Luangwa, a Zambian NGO, to supervise and work with the Zambian government to register and pay our reading assistants.  We  provide all the education materials for our libraries.

  • Sponsorship of over 50 children to attend secondary school and college. Supplying 27 Reading Assistants to 7 newly built libraries in the South Luangwa valley.

  • Building 6 new classrooms and a library for a dilapidated primary school, increasing the student body from 320 to over 1000.

  • Funding local scouting patrols who find and arrest poachers, locate snares, and rescue animals caught in snares.

  • Conservation education programs and classes for local children, several of whom now have careers in wildlife conservation.

  • Supporting detection dog programs in Zambia trained to find elephant ivory, rhino horns, bush meat, other wildlife contraband, guns and ammunition.

  • Support programs that help save both the elephants and carnivore populations from extinction in Southern Africa.

In addition to operating our Reading Centers and Libraries  we work with and support 6 Zambian NGO’s.

·       Project Luangwa who is our partner in the Reading Program and who we have supported to set up and operate a mobile computer and learning lab

·       Chipembele Wildlife Educations Center who we have supported with donations for their conservation classes, computer center and sponsorships of students to attend both secondary school and college

·       Makolekole Drilling Foundation who we have helped raise funds by providing a vehicle on line and matching funds to boreholes (wells) in and around the South Luangwa Valley.

·       Conservaiton Lower Zambezi who we have raised funds for specific conservation projects including training for women in the field of conservation and scouting

·       Conservation South Luangwa  We have supported for many years providing funding for numerous projects and ongoing operating of their email, donor collection and web site systems.

·       Zambia Carnivore Program We have supported many of their projects included purchase of vehicles, women’s conservation training, sponsorship of interns and build out of their web site.
